Reporting Live from the Suicide Point

"Life and People really don't mix" Yes.. It really does. It was the penultimate working day of my 1st year. I haven't written much about my college life. Here I am unleashing all my feelings in this post.

To start with, I'll say about my councelling. Everyone in my family insisted me to pursue ECE. I had no objection for that. The problem was about "Choosing College". Having got a good (It was good untill I reached my councelling hall) I thought I would end up pursuing in "SVC". I was unfortunate as I am OC. In a fraction of seconds, tons of college names came across my mind. My final choise was to pursue either in EASHWARI or in SAIRAM. Ultimately I ended up by clicking "SRI SAIRAM ENGG. COLLEGE, West Tambaram. Councelling Code:419".

I heard from the seniors in my area that "My college is a bit strict." Stictness doesn't matter to me at all then. Imagined a lot about my college in holidays. Surfed for its pictures in the net. Found many friends in orkut. From my school as many as 12 students got a seat in SSEC. But none of them are close to me. To be frank, I haven't talked to any of them much but for three(Anand, Srini, Pari). I thought I would be finding difficult to move on with new ones. I feared for it.

I never imagined my life would turn worser than ever as soon as I stepped into the college. I sat between Ramamurthi and Yusuf. Both doesn't know Tamil and I don't talk that fluently in English. Thank God, After a week Ramamurthi shifted his place. When life at college went on well, I was really missing something (or may be Someone). There were none to share my feelings with. I usually talk mainly with Yusuf and Barath. To say about Yusuf, He is not trustworthy person.(Till date). Then about Barath, He is always STUDIOUS. Moreover he is such a childish person (I don't know if he is pretending or not). He used to crosscheck everything many times. Like sort of Using two Thindukkal Locks for a single door. (He didn't do that. I am just stating an example). Sometimes to be too careful also hurts you. But still I am moving partly well with him.

But still in my college life I am missing those shoulders which came whenever I needed; I am missing those hands that gave a pat when I did good and gave a slap when I did bad; I am missing those eyes which understood my silence; More importantly I am missing those souls that shared my goodness and badness.

Even after end of the year, when anyone asks me "How is your college life?" I'll jus reply "Its Sick." They'll just give a what-the-hell-are-you-saying look. I am saying so because it is so.

After reading this post, you may think "What the stuff does this post consists? " Yup..This post doesn't consists any stuff. I just posted to inform, "My life at college is sick and Don't ever ask me how my life at college is?"

Enjoyed My Last Phase

Whenever I thinking of writing something in this blog, the first topic that comes to my mind is about my school life. It was indeed really good. Such as a sweet music. That too my 11th and 12th std life were as good as how it would when we dring a hot tea, while it is raining heavily outside.

I couldn’t remember those early days of my 11th std. New class. But for Harish and Aarthi sri I haven’t studied with anyone else. I know it was my last phase of my school life. I really don’t want to spend with some unknown strangers. But there were 3 people(strangers initially) who made my last phase really enjoyable.

Many interesting moments happened among us then. I here by mention a few.

  • Ø I entered the class and went and sat in the penultimate bench of the class. Seeing me, pramodh turned and said “Dude, Come and sit here” I refused his invitation as it was already occupied by four. Viz. N.Vignesh , Pramodh, Manoj, Sai..
  • Ø Right in the very first day of new class, that too in first hour, the topic of Cricket team arrised.V.Vignesh started the topic and asked that who is going to be the Captain. Its going to be only either me or pramodh. Pramodh soon turned and asked, “Can you lead the lead the team? ” I just replied,” Nope..Better you be the captain. I’ll assist you if needed. “

These little conversions were just a beginning. I didn’t even thought that he would become such close in future.

  • Ø Saradha “miss” (It had been a year since I used this word ) selected ( rather elected ) “Sai” as Class-Monitor . A class monitor is the one who monitors the class and makes the students who talk in tamil to pay a fine.(Thanks mainly to the Engineering Course that I am doing for because of which I have defined this term well)
  • Ø The entire class was against him as he was so sincere at what he was asked to do. (i.e) Making the students to get caught.
  • Ø He became wexed and said to her , “ Miss..!! I’ll better resign my post”. The entire class bursted into laughter as soon as he quoted the words “Resign my post”

Days passed. Sai became very close. He came to home regularly. Rather daily. We used to have a chat and he goes.

  • Ø It was October, 2007. I got a mobile. I said Vignesh ,” Hey.. I’ll message you once I bought my sim card.” I forgot about it totally. Next day as soon as I entered the class, he came to me and said, “Dude.. This Aircel has poor signal …I haven’t yet received the message that you had sent last night. “ Those words were as painful as immersing a red hot iron rod in a cold water.
Right from that night, for the next 3-4 months We had late night chats.. Really late night…Crossing the 00:00 border.

We used to play cricket every Saturday. I even remember a match against “XI B2”in which S.Karthik made his debut for our team. I, along with him, made a above par score and kept our team’s position high. When pramodh took a wicket in the very first ball of the second Innings, the match turned out to be a one sided affair. These days really brought each other closer.

Life went on good..12th life was even more good.

I didn’t even remember when we actually started to go to Anjeneya’s temple. It was really a good place to be with friends. It remains to be the same. Initally we went for praying. Later We expected Vignesh' g.friendS rather than Anjenayar’s presence.

  • Ø Sai, despite being a Brahmin ,once ate chicken saying to Femila miss that he is eating only potatoes
  • Ø Our 12th june monthly report cards were given. It showed that Sai Secured 8th rank. The important thing that was to be noticed is that he was failed in Sanskrit paper. He was only failure in the top 15 ranks.

We appeared for our board exams. We did well. Then most awaited Public Holidays came. Daily Cricket, Going to beach once in two weeks, then going to city centre, made us closer than ever. The most important thing I hate is that when ever we go to citi centre, Sai and Pramodh would go to KFC to taste the crispies, while myself and vignesh have to go and get a munch each .

I Enjoyed my lastb phase of school life to the core..mainly due to these three guys..

  • ü Dhoom – N.Vignesh
  • ü Bammu – Pramodh
  • ü Psycho – Sai
Thank you friends..!!
Wishing you all the success in Life.
Ragul

All said above are true and the words are exactly quoted by respective persons

A leaf from my life book

I was doing my second year of the kinder garden studies. It was then this boy came to my school. To be precise, he came to my class. He was lean and of moderate height then. I didn’t care much about him. I stayed aloof from as much as possible as I didn’t like him much. Days passed and it was “as-per-fate” we had to talk to each other. However it was not of good cause. We used to fight with each other for biscuits, for chips, for corner place in a bench, for getting our class tests corrected. I still remember saying him that I hate him to the core. When I think of it now and say to my parents, they would burst in laughter.

So whole of my second year of the kinder garden went by treating him as my enemy, rival etc of that sort.

Having passed in the annual exam conducted by my school, I was promoted to first year of primary studies and not surprisingly so was he. Still I treated him as my rival. I couldn’t remember how did I change my thought about him. Surprisingly, my art rival turned out to be my best friend. Life went on smooth then.

“Give me another chance I want to grow up once again.” Life indeed went smooth.

We fought for the lunch in our UKG. We shared our lunch in our First year of Primary studies. “He really means a lot to me.”

I even remember two funny incidents that happened between us. During our Vth std, he even got caught by our maths mam (Vijayalakshmi) for writing my maths homework. She left the matter just by tearing the page. The second incident happened during our VIIth std. He didn’t bring the Hindi text book and he was sent out by the teacher (Vanaja).Guess what??? I too accompanied him even though I had brought mine. Later Magesh(one of my pals) took my reader from my bag and showed it in front of class. All I was asked to do then was to go to my place and sit silently.

These two incidents may be silly and funny but these things reveal our love with each other and how high we value our friendship.

“He really means a lot to me.” I really mean it.

There after our life was not as smooth as expected. He ignored me. He ignored me totally. He went on to become another one’s(I don’t want to mention the name) closest buddy. The half-an-hour phone calls were reduced to a 5 minutes one. I too didn’t mind to go and talk to him because of my ego.(I regret for it now). Life then was not as good as expected.

Classes were changed during our XIth. I went on to adapt myself with new buddies and so as he. The phone calls between us were completely dead. We hardly made a call to wish each other on our respective birthday.

After our schooling, it became even worse that we have to say “hi-bye” only by seeing each other in the bus stop waiting for our respective college bus. Unfortunately I am doing my BE at Sri Sairam Engineering College while he is pursuing the same at MNM Jain Engineering College. He was not my side for my success and not for my failures too. He was not there to guide me when I was searching for my shadow in the darkness. Suddenly those shoulders, which came forward when I was crying was missing. Suddenly there were none to feel my sudden pain and to hold my hand till I become strong again. I started to cry when I remember those moments when we laughed together. Life Indeed is not as good as expected.

“He really means a lot to me.”

Two days before, he had sent me a message asking me to tell what I think about him and our friendship. I was unable to reply by 1000 characters. Here I am replying to him.

All I wanted to say him was that “You mean a lot to me.”

With much PYAR ,but staying FAR

Flashback: 01022010 Fed up on Feb 1

It was a fine Sunday evening..Every one but for me in my house went to the temple..I went to pramodh’s house to play video game there as per our plan…I had a nice time there....Then i looked my watch and said "Its time for me to return home.."

Right then he said ,”Come to ground at 6.30 AM without fail…We have a match with senior team..”

In reply I said,” Sure buddy…!”

Next day when I woke up…something my mom was saying..! It was then I remembered and said to myself ,” Damid…Today I have college..!! I should check out the meaning for SEMESTER HOLIDAYS in a authorized dictionary …Two days….What the hell I can do with it..!!”

With few scoldings from my parents I got ready for the college and boarded the bus…Tension free travel after a week or so…

After entering the class,I checked out my time table..I prayed God for two things..

  1. 1) My maths ma’m should be replaced by some other prof..
  2. 2) My Phy sir should not be replaced…

Thank God for HE was in my side as both happened…

With little expections from myself,I decided ..rather took an oath to concentrate in almost all the class of 2nd sem…

As per schedule,I should have a CP practical in the forennon session…A ma’m came…She introduced herself and started her lecture…

Unix……Linux……Solaris….non GUI……$ promt…..Commands……Oh..!!

This time God was not in my side…

I never expected that I would break my oath within 15 min of commencement of classes…The bell rang….I meant the siren…We went to the lunch hall…I had a slight fear whether my immune system still possed the immunuity against my college food since I have been having my lunch at home during exams…The lunch was as usual….Worse….

Then….we had Chemistry period ….same old ma’m….Thank God for He was gain in my side….She went out for evaluation…We had a free period….A free period on the very first day of the 2nd semester ….Wow..It was simply good to experience that…After the free period it was Maths hour…New prof..new topics….one of my fav subject…..but not for past 6 months….It went good…Then It was English Period… I thanked God for the third time for HE was again in my side…We had another free period…Courtesy..English ma’m went for Evaluation….

Finally after the break…we had our last period…It was Basic Mech period….

We students in that period followed the oldest every saying….

“He came…..We went (Off to our dream land)”

The day was some sort of a roller coaster ride…..Ups and Down….Expectations let my heart down….Never had my concentration that day….So I decided that I should never take an oath about something that I can’t do….

Expecting a Time machine,

Ragul

Testing the Patience in Tests

VS

It had been a while since I posted my last post in my blog…. Here I come with a new one… My favourite one….About my favoutite one….

PUNJAB KING - T20 sey TEST thak…!!

He made his debut for team India in the year 2000 against Kenyans. Since then he has cemented his place in ODI…But its not the same case in ALL WHITE FORMAT….Yes,I Meant “Yuvraj Singh ”….. One Having came into the longer format in the year 2003,he couldn’t find a regular place in the playing XI because of FAB FOUR group of batsmen (Dravid,Tendulkar,Ganguly,Laxman)… He has performed well in T20’s and ODI’ s …..but not in tests…

At present,he is finding a place in the Playing XI- thanks to DADA’s retirement…. But does he deserves a place in the team? India’s known for its bench strenth in the “Reign of red cork”….. The squad has names that sounds healthy….but when it comes to performance, they lack consistency unlike FAB FOUR group of batsmen…... One among them is YUVI…..He has scored oly 1582 in 50 innings with a weak average of 35.95… He has scored only 3 tons with a best score of 169(The magical knock alongside DADA ,that rescuded the match for INDIA against their art rivals PAKISTHAN)… He was included in the squad that went to Australia in 07-08….He was made to bite dust by LEE and Co scoring just 19 runs in 4 outings….His poor run didn’t end there….Rather it started from there…. Till date, in his last 14 matches ,he has scored only 784 runs still at average of 35…

19 and 13 ,v West Indies @ Kingston ,30 Jun 2006
169 and 2 ,v Pakistan @ Bangalore ,8 Dec 2007
0 and 5 , v Australia, @ Melbourne ,26 Dec 2007
12 and 0 v Australia, @ Sydney, 2 Jan 2008
32 and DNB ,v South Africa, @ Kanpur ,11 Apr 2008
14 and 85* , v England ,@ Chennai ,1 1 Dec 2008
27 and 86 , v England ,@ Mohali ,19 Dec 2008
22 and DNB ,v New Zealand ,@ Hamilton ,18 Mar 2009
0 and 54* ,v New Zealand,@Napier 26, Mar 2009
9 and 40 ,v New Zealand ,@ Wellington ,3 Apr 2009
68 and DNB ,v Sri Lanka ,@ Ahmedabad ,16 Nov 2009
67 ,v Sri Lanka ,@ Kanpur ,24 Nov 2009
23 , v Sri Lanka .@ Mumbai (BS) ,2 Dec 2009
12 and 25 ,v Bangladesh ,@ Chittagong ,17 Jan 2010

His results doesn’t reflect his talent…. For a middle order batsman, average of 35 is very very less…. He has to perform to cement his position… Former Tamilnadu Ranji Captain BADRINATH is one among the competetor to find a place in playing XI along with MURALI VIJAY….Badrinath has showed now and then by scoring tons and double tons in Ranji matches..He has an average of 58.63 runs per innings….. but still, he has to make his debut…. He deserves a national cap a longer format…He is considered one among them who had spent his most of the early days for playing domestic cricket inspite of having talent….

A place in the PLAYING XI should be DESERVED…. Rather not RESERVED for someone….

YUVRAJ should perform in upcoming tests against BAN and SA….Else he should be perished…..Hoping a ton or double ton from his reebok bat…!!

Its coll-AGE

I think this the first time I am going to write about my college life …Being a college student for three months or so…I wonder how I am more energetic than I was ever in my school days….I know how I used to be in my school….few of my pals also know….Yesteday I had a chat with BRAGA(One of my closest pal) after a long time…The First question he asked me was “Still the same studious RAGUL ah?”….I was so in my school day….Learning everything,….preparing for every tests….even for the class test….But after coming to the college I am not the same Ragul….I have changed….I had the guts to write a Unit test without even preparing….(I mentioned in one of my previous posts)….Commenting aloud in class…I have never done in my school days…I will comment but not aloud….Talking to every student both boys and girls….I was not like that in my school…will talk only to a few…..The onething which I couldn’t digest is that I am being targeted by few teachers especially my maths ma’m…..Was pet student for few teachers in schooldays….Two of the important changes I found myself I left my desire to sit in the last bench….and improved my English speaking skill…..but still I fear to orate in front of a crowd….even friends in that sense….

Though I have changed a lot…Few things remain unchanged….Viz…Still I hate being called “MACHI”….
Highly short tempered…..Argues that INDIA will win the match till the last ball is being bowled though my mind knows INDIA won’t…..Same RAGUL who is passionate about cricket…..

Still 8 semesters to go….Lets me see the changes in me on that last day….Hoping that I will coming as PROFESSIONAL ENGINEER…!!(Such as my physcis sir used to say)

The Farewell day that wasn't..!

Hardly there was a month to face our board exams….Everyone was busy in their preparations…Then the circular came calling out the day for the farewell party…rather the so called “FAREWELL PARTY”….We friends realized that we are going to miss each other in a short period from then….We know, the school doesn’t sends us in a way which we deserve… They conducted it as they have to do…We were all set to attend the party…We had many plans….planned to write our name all over the walls of our school…Taking snaps with our beloved teachers….Snaps of our lovable school….Pramodh brought the cam…Unfortunately he didn’t have the guts to take the snaps…Myself and hareesh went on to do the work of writing our names in walls….we did in the biology lab…we did in the class nearby to the cycle shed….We wrote in our benches….we wrote in tree in front of physics lab….Few speeches…..few advices…we were forced to tune our ears to those…..At last we were given sweets,Ice creams and were sent off…..We didn’t have any feeling of missing on that day which was against our thought…..We took snaps on the streets….Had a 45 min chat in front of sai’s house….And then returned home….

Indeed the day of feelings was on MARCH 19TH ,The last day our school life…..We were about to cry…But we didn’t….The last few words of our principal to one of our gang members were “Hey Vignesh…!!Come here..!! Will you score centum in Computer Science….??” The Tiny Toy replied “Yes sir…Sure I will score” But he didn’t make his words true…..We bid adieu to our school….That evening almost all of our friends met in the ground… We did played there….. The sun went home….But we didn’t…We sat and discussed about our school life…its good and bad…We had our feelings then…. We had a promise of being in touch with each other….Few kept up while few didn’t mind to keep up…It was then first tear that we shed for each other….It was indeed the FAREFELL PARTY which we had for ourselves…..
